Written by Yang Hongying, “Panda’s Diary” is a series of enlightenment picture books specially designed for preschool children. There are 40 volumes in total and the first 10 volumes of “Story of Spring” are promoted now. The hero of the story is a Chinese giant panda named Mimi. Panda Mimi has a pair of eyes with which he can see any details. He discovers the beauty and secret of the nature in the four seasons, increasing his knowledge and improving his ability to survive. By following the story of Mimi, children can improve their cognitive ability, imagination ability, analytical ability, and judgment ability. It is a set of picture books for children’s growth with strong Chinese cultural characteristics. The book was successfully selected in 2019 “the original power” of China’s original animation publishing support program.
Xu Fengmei, president of Anhui Children’s Publishing House, first delivered in a speech that Yang Hongying has been committed to creating valuable reading children’s literature for Chinese children, and that the publication of “Panda’s Diary” is a “Chinese” spiritual meal that covers traditional Chinese festivals and traditional virtues. Through reading it from an early age, children will be firmly confident for Chinese traditional culture. It is the duty of publishers to introduce more and better quality works and to provide more Chinese-related publications for the growth of children. It is also the duty of publishers to look forward to more and more copyright cooperation in the future, which will recommend China’s most beautiful and best children’s works to children all over the world, so that the international links of children’s literature will be more closely integrated.
Yang Hongying shared the original thoughts and feelings when she was creating “Panda’s Diary” series with participants and young readers. Because she had the opportunity to see the panda regularly from an early age, and recently had experience on tracking panda’s daily life at panda’s breeding base in Sichuan Province, she had deep feelings for the panda. She told that pandas have become an international representative of China’s friendly messengers and important symbols, which was beloved by children around the world. With a young panda as the main character, the book will inspire children to observe and understand the world better, and help them develop good habits of life, which is also one of the book’s important features.
Three parties, Anhui Children’s Publishing House, Yang Hongying, and Jiang Boyan LLC, held a signing ceremony

Signing Ceremony of Panda’s Diary at CCBF 2019, Madame Yang Hongyin and James Bryant
Here is the speech note by James Bryant at CCBF:
Madam Yang, Anhui Publishing Group, I would like to congratulate you on the successful launch of Madam Yang’s Panda Diary series.
When I was first introduced to Yang Hongying I recognized the similarities between her and the vastly popular American children’s media star Mr Rogers. Mr Rogers had the remarkable ability to capture children’s attention and to engage them in a safe world. Mr Rodgers became well known in America for his ability to help explain life’s transitions to young children. So it is that Madam Yang has achieved the same unique ability to capture children’s attention in china and engage them in understanding the world around them. Madam Yang’s works reach children in a way that few children’s books really do. It’s no wonder that Madam Yang’s books are the most popular books in China selected by children themselves.
According to OpenBook, Madam Yang is China’s bestselling author in modern history. Yet, as popular as her books are in China they are relatively unknown outside of China. We at Jiang Boyan intend to change that. We would like to expand the global awareness and influence of Chinese authors such as Madam Yang. We are focused on building a bridge between Chinese publishers and western audiences. China’s time has arrived.
We believe that china is in the midst of a cultural renaissance. It’s easy for foreign visitors to see this when they visit china today. The magnificent new architecture, the innovative large scale infrastructure projects, the astounding advancements in science and technology, the solid improvement in people’s lives, and of course the remarkable new stories that are being published by authors such as Madam Yang Hongying and Anhui Publishing Group.
We are pleased to be working with Anhui Publishing Group and Madam Yang Hongying.
